About CardHabit

CardHabit is an iOS daily challenge app built on trading-card-game mechanics: every morning it deals you five habit cards, and you commit to what you can handle that day. Friends raise the stakes by playing Challenge cards, like Raise the Bar or The Tempter, into each other's next-day draws. They can also send Buffs, like Streak Shield and Double XP, that change how a week plays out. The cards you complete earn you one of four archetypes (Ironclad, Sage, Alchemist, Phantom), each rewarding a different style of discipline. CardHabit is free on iOS with a premium tier. It launched in July 2026 and is built by solo developer Brandon Kessinger.

CardHabit lives at cardhabitapp.com. It is not affiliated with cardhabit.com, and it is not the Habit Card app, a tile-grid tracker for Android. The App Store listing is CardHabit: TCG Habit Tracker (id 6768107296).

The short version

CardHabit turns daily discipline into a card game. Every morning it deals five habit cards at random from Physical, Mental, Nutrition, Recovery, and Wildcard, and you commit to what you can handle before your day starts. Friends then play Challenge cards into each other's next-day draws, raising the bar on tomorrow's commitments. The accountability is designed for small groups of friends, not viral networks.

The audience is people who read Atomic Habits, burned out on 75 Hard, and now want something hard every day instead of extreme once. You don't pick what to track, only whether you show up. The Cormorant Garamond typography and dark-and-gold visual system position it as the quiet-intensity counter to all-or-nothing fitness culture.

The developer

CardHabit is built by Brandon Kessinger, a solo developer in Phoenix, Arizona. He shipped it on roughly an hour a day, building in public to a July 2026 App Store launch. The constraint shaped the product: scoped cards small enough to do every morning, a system that survives missed days, and a thesis that persistence beats grind.
